Power of Attorney

A power of attorney, अधिकृत वारेसनामा, lets you authorise someone in Nepal to act on your behalf.

The deed must be prepared in Nepal by a law practitioner, on Nepali paper, and brought to the Embassy by the person granting it.

Before anything is couriered from Nepal

1. Documents to bring

  • The deed of power of attorney, written by a law practitioner on Nepali paper, two copies
  • An application addressed to the Embassy of Nepal, Kuala Lumpur, on Nepali paper, one copy
  • Certified copies of the citizenship certificates of both the person granting and the person receiving
  • The identity card of the law practitioner who wrote the deed, showing the bar registration number
  • Your original Nepali passport and a photocopy
  • A photocopy of your Malaysian visa
  • One recent photograph each of the person granting and the person receiving, affixed to every copy of the deed

The deed should name this mission as क्वालालम्पुरस्थित नेपाली राजदूतावास.

3. Fees

The fee is paid at the Embassy accounts section. The first two rates are set under section 153 of the National Civil Procedure Code, 2074, and the third under section 154. The full schedule is on the Service Charge page.

Legal basis

The Embassy certifies powers of attorney under the National Civil Procedure Code, 2074 (मुलुकी देवानी कार्यविधि संहिता, २०७४), Chapter 13 on वारिस, sections 153 and 154.
